Your First Sale

Now that you’re registered, let’s record your first sale. The whole process takes under 30 seconds once you have a product added.

Before you can sell, you need at least one product in your inventory.

  1. Open the Products page

    Tap Products in the bottom navigation bar.

  2. Tap the ”+” button

    This opens the Add Product form.

  3. Fill in the product details

    • Product name — What you’re selling (e.g., “Peak Milk 400g”)
    • Selling price — How much you sell it for (e.g., ₦850)
    • Cost price (optional) — How much you bought it for (e.g., ₦700). This lets SabiBooks calculate your profit automatically
    • Stock quantity (optional) — How many you have in stock (e.g., 24)
    • Category (optional) — Group similar products together (e.g., “Dairy”)
  4. Tap Save

    Your product is now in the system and ready to sell.

  1. Open the POS screen

    Tap New Sale in the bottom navigation bar (the centre button). This opens the Point of Sale screen.

  2. Find your product

    Use the search bar to type the product name, or browse the product grid. You can also scan a barcode.

  3. Add to cart

    Tap the product to add it to your cart. Tap again to increase the quantity, or use the quantity controls in the cart panel.

  4. Select a payment method

    Choose how the customer is paying:

  5. Complete the sale

    • For cash payments: enter the amount the customer gave you. SabiBooks shows the change to give back
    • For POS terminal: the amount is pushed to your terminal. The customer taps or inserts their card
    • For bank transfer: confirm you received the transfer
    • For credit: the amount is added to the customer’s outstanding balance

    Tap Complete Sale to finalise.

  6. Share the receipt

    After completing the sale, you can share the receipt with your customer:

    • WhatsApp — Opens WhatsApp with the receipt ready to send
    • SMS — Sends a text receipt to the customer’s phone
    • Print — Sends to a connected printer
    • Copy Link — Generates a shareable URL anyone can view (no login required)

With your first sale recorded, SabiBooks is already tracking:

  • Today’s revenue — visible on the Dashboard
  • Profit — if you entered a cost price, SabiBooks calculates your margin
  • Stock levels — the sold product’s quantity is automatically reduced
  • Sales history — every sale is saved and searchable
